Short answer- not really. their coat is short. temperature has a lot to do with how much shedding happens and it is in combination with the breeds coat/fur. if you want a no-shedding dog, get one that has hair, but be aware that your grooming bill will be high.. Great danes do shed and even though they don't shed more than an average dog, there seems to be more great dane hairs around your home simply because of the large size of the dog. the short and glossy coat requires minimal grooming.. Oh, those awful teenage coats. those of you with short coated breeds, and particularly some lines of great danes, you will notice in their teenage months 9 month - 18 month they will go through a normal puppy shedding that in some cases is pretty awful..
